Finally the finale has come..the end is near..judgement day ..the moment or truth…
Another thing that make for a games are the possibilities of carries…
although it aint very clear…its the same thing…shes owning..
Both games have heroes that are just F***ed up when fed….just because you see Youtube videos of heroes owning; heroes literally going 1 on 5 and winning; heroes that 3 shot enemies; heroes dancing over then pissing inside the eye sockets of their dead opponents while their teammates ravage their necro assholes…ahh..ok..went overboard there….. you immediately think one of the two is unbalanced- they’re not. Although once you get in HoN, you ARE a bit stronger than a fed champion in LoL. It is however, harder to get fed in HoN- you have to be really good. A noob can own in LoL given he’s had a lucky day. HoN though has some heroes that no one wants to play with. Just like the Kraken and Ophelia- wtf .6 usage compared to 2.1s and 2.4s and as of the new Glads- 3.0. Everyone loves a new hero. Still, all the heroes ARE balanced when put up.
Another great thing about HoN is the announcer- you just can’t beat the man. He improves on the Unreal Tournament’s one by just being kick ass. The only reason i would ever want to get a triple kill in HoN is because he just blurts out your awesomeness in a way LoL’s LADY…thats right- LADY announcer just can’t do. Although LoL’s announcer declares a lot more on whats going on- HoN’s announcer makes the game the rush of adrenaline it is.

HoN’s ending is somewhat controversial. LoL’s ending is just plain, maybe a bit too plain. The thing just bursts-that’s it. In HoN, the base is literally RAVAGED. That thing comes from underground and rips the base apart-cool. But when that tree pops and makes everything green and gay…hmmm…cheesy… Good guys aren’t always gay- but this time they are. This ending gives victors the much needed pat on the back they deserve while the losers have to moan in the most miserable 10 seconds of their lives. Btw LoL’s ending – 3 seconds…I think. It’s gone before you even know it.

The towers in LoL actually attack enemy heroes that attack your won heroes. It does make sense when you look at it. LoL towers are more durable and are somewhat harder to take down. This fact would allow for Chronos to just jump in 200 DMG ULTI, ELDER, either kill or take away a good HALF of your health and leap out- I mean WTF. It is pretty hard for one, even fed, hero to take down a tower from ¾ health in LoL but this can be enhance teamplay- unless you like to own everything, every time.
The matchmaking in both games sucks Sigourney Weaver’s horse face. In LoL there are a lot….and I mean a LOT of leaver and AFKers. They just ruin your game, unless you’re the losing team and their key player leaves. HoN matchmaking can take forever….5 mins… wow …in some match types while your team might have an average KD ratio of 1 compared to a 2 of the other team.
LoL basically is a free game. I haven’t paid squat till now. Hon is definitely worth the $30 bucks- the graphics and the announcer itself cost $28.584. However, one of the best things in LoL is the way in which you can level OUTSIDE the game. That’s right, you get experience and IP points for winning…and losing- more when winning of course. The experience helps you to level up- max 30- with a new mastery point every level to give you a slight in game boost. Don’t worry, lvl 30s fight lvl 30s and lvl 1s fight 1s. Moreover, the IP you get helps you buy new champions and runes- also in game help. You can choose your own runes- attack speed, attack damage, spell damage, armor, spell resist, etc. This beats the monotony of Hon which is just game after game after game. So what happens when you reach lvl 30 in LoL. Well, THEN it becomes just game after game after game- even though you can still save up the IP to get more champs. However, GETTING to lvl 30 is the fun part- this is the part that Hon misses out on even with all the added statistics, usage and ladder displays.

The moment of truth….
It finally comes down to one last aspect of the game- community. Like I said earlier, I won’t go into all the external details like website design and what not. Players don’t really care about that as long as the game’s fine. The ONE thing that I’ve seen that will give LoL the edge- in the long run- is the community. The ENTIRE HoN base has played DotA before. I know I have and 13 out of 18 players- friends of mine- kinda, that play HoN have played DotA before. Out of 13 ,5 have switched to ONLY LoL and 6 play both- which game they play more is irrelevant. I know a LOT more players that only play LoL, well, because Hon was too hard on them- the players were mean and not too friendly. This is the one MAJOR drawback of HoN that will hurt it in the long run. I myself find HoN players to think they are the best in the biz- too good yet too high and mighty. Only DotA players that actually could get a double or a triple kill play HoN, because they are familiar with everything- including the skill level required. This fact will attract more players to LoL as most people in the population are what they are …NOOBS. I stand halfway between noobs and pro- am pretty useful but not too useful. To those who have never played DotA before, HoN will just be another rape session- with immense verbal abuse. They will leave and go to a game where they somehow can have good days and not just bad- LoL.
In lieu of this, LoL comes out with the victory. Although both games are great, they are TOTALLY different. HoN IS a better version of DotA while LoL is trying to be completely original. Let’s just face it, everyone knows what DotA is but not everyone plays it, or has played it.

I’ve played both, HoN is better.
i played both, and LoL is nice, but HoN kicks ass, anyway i came from DotA and i can say that DotA and HoN are much similar betwen them than LoL is, and are much funny and competitive, in my opinion the only good thing of LoL is that is free, but is a very poor thing, and by the way the strange browser engine sucks a lot.
And all customizations that LoL has are not that original or usefull that they can seem at first sight, is just a loosing of time. Not to talk about the shop menù and the hotkeys… awfull, as the minimap is aswell.
YEA dude…i agree…HON is better in a LOT of ways…but the problem is that the ppl that play HON…the majority….are fckin assholes….LOL already surpassed a million downloads last april? i bet they are already aiming for 2 million….that’s what im saying…even though HON kicks LOLs ass…..LOL is still more popular and widely received…and they are also making money because fuckloads of people are buying XP and IP boosts, champions adn skins….
the more advanced game fails to beat the more primitive one..

Never played DotA, tried LoL, play HoN every day because it’s good, balanced, and less expensive that LoL. Part of what makes it better is the high skill level and the sense of accomplishment from beating the learning curve and becoming good. (I use the word curve lightly, as the learning curve for HoN is more like rocket-skating head first into a concrete wall). HoN is difficult because it’s balanced for the competitive level, not for the casual player. Additionally, the community is only bad if you’re resistant to help. Ask nicely for assistance and, most importantly, pay attention to what experienced players say. If they tell you to go online and read guides, then you should probably go online and read as many guides as possible.
@Mike. What does 1 million downloads mean in a game that’s free to play? Statistically, that means absolutely nothing. For all you know, someone at riot games has a computer automatically downloading, installing and deleting the client every ten minutes. Downloads mean absolutely nothing for a freemium game.
brando u retard….what the whole post is about is that HON is DEFINITELY the better game…HOWEVER…LOL will win in the long run due to its community…and thus will beat HON in the lucrative sense leaving HON with little to no extra profit for major improvement…

Lets look at money and overall game income. HON — one time fee of 30$, this means that HON will receive 30$ from a lot of people ONCE. LOL — 5$ from A LOT MORE people A LOT MORE times. LOL has re-occurring income and in the long run (and short run) that is what is important. LOL will simply outlast HON and then what happens to servers, forums, customer support, new updates? I’ll save my 30$ for taco bell 5x.

You can’t claim that the ENTIRE hon base has played dota before when only 13/18 of your friends fit that stereotype. I mean, if it were 17/18 I might understand but 13/18? That’s more than a quarter of your friends that didn’t play Dota before Hon.
Due to this and various other logical flaws, I must conclude that the opposite of the author’s opinion is correct. Afk Hon.
Mike, how old are you 11? Because clearly LoL doesnt have Graphics, Performance and exclusive offers like HoN gives you… And LoL cannot compare to Heroes of Newerth in anyway possible because HoN prepares week by week and not month by month like LoL and S2 employees always interact with their community and take suggestions… Ever heard of the Character Gauntlet? Yea he was accepted by S2 and now is a legitimate character in the HoN community.
@WigglyFAce……dude play LOL and see how many ppl have bought skins…and fucking bundles…every time a new hero comes out they sell it with skins as a bundle and you WILL SEE LOTS of ppl (most probs 12 yolds) have it…there are on an average 3/10 ppl in a game with skins…that is approx 3-5$ / ONE skin….just imagine how many millions of $$$ that is…and the number of users is expanding….HOn in 30$ oen time fee which is DEFINITELY the better offer…however you CAN play LOL and not use a single dollar…but a lot of people just get sucked into buying skins….profit-wise LOL wins…..

and tbh its not easy to say which is better.
but a few facts….
HON is bascily an remake of DOTA blantantly copying DOTA.
LOL has alot more original features.
LOL is free.
LOL has actually won mulitple awards.
LOL has more dynamics with its runes, masteries and summoner skills.
LOL the creators of LOL worked on DOTA, WC3 and WOW (WTF more do u want)

HON is for harcore gamers… (response – well then u better prepared for alot less poeple playing the game if u make the learning curve to hectic) and besides if a game is harder to play it by no means means its better ffs
HON is more balanced (response – bullshit ive heard alot of HON players complaining some chars are useless, LOL does not have that problem)
Finale – give it a few years and you’ll see how HON will fade into obscurity with only a couple of self styled “hardcore” gamers playing and LOL will be a massive success story (if its isnt already)

Well LoL is better IMO. I have played Dota,HoN and LoL. I find that HoN is WAAAAAAAAAY(Missed a million As) too competitive and the community there (really) is like…..Umm…Too non-noob friendly. :S Everyone there is waaay too hard core and every kill for me will be a “NOOB KSER GTFO” or “NOOB FEEDER GTFO”.
Maybe it’s something to do with HoN’s epic graphics and LoL’s cartoon-ish graphics….? Ionno. Oh yeah games weren’t made to be hardcore….Just saying it.
I play LoL and have completely forgotten about hon. Here are some of the reasons:
A new champion almost every week
Runes and masteries
Ranked games are just really cool
I don’t need to wait very long to play
I think that in general it is very difficult to switch from hon to lol simply because you paid a flat fee for hon and if you were to switch you would need to admit that you have wasted time and money.

As for you HoN … you guys can’t invent for shit, I mean come on! A complete duplicate of DotA … that’s a nice idea NOT.
The only reason LoL has so many more players than HoN, is because it’s free. Many people say that they can’t afford the 30$ that HoN is worth.
@seeker Hon has also won many awards, and when you have played LoL enough it’s isn’t free anymore, because you start using monny on champions instead, HoN is accualy much cheaper than LoL.
And the reason HoN looks like DOTA is because it is DOTA just a better version, LoL is a whole other game HoN and DOTA.
S2 games, couldn’t just make HoN, they needed ice frog to do accept it, because it was a remake of his game.
And in HoN you doesn’t have to wait 5 min. for a match making game, it takes about 1 – 60 secounds.
And the reason we are so agressive and calling people noobs and retards, is because you get so mad if they can’t do their job as they should.

LOL is so much more interesting. 4 spells, a passive and 2 sumoner spells. HON has 4 spells.
LOL has runes and summoner skills. HON has nothing.
Game play goes to LOL. Graphics and overall mechanics and smooth operations of the game I will admit go to HON, but I would take gameplay over the look and feel of a game anyday.
What people forget about HON (ive never played LOL) is that its the little changes that make HON a great game compared to DOTA.
-The reconnect system
-Better Interface ala the Hot keys , improved shop, the main menu
-Refined mechanics ala the heroes
-MMR / PSR
-Leaver percentages
-Constant updating and balancing (more frequent than DOTA)
And many more things I fail to mention. I say this its because its these little details that make HON superior than DOTA I cant speak on LOLs behalf but to all you people who say it is simply a plain rip-off you obviously have never played HON more than 3weeks. The community is the equivalent of a Commissar in WW2 if you do (or try) your job he will be supportive and maybe even help you (God knows I have to new playrs [im a 1720 MMR atm])
but if you dont yes he will shoot you in the back of the head……
