    This guide is crap.. firstly, u dont want to get stalk before ur lvl 15+ imo, u dont need it for dmg, and you are not moving around enough early game, to b needing the short cd. get stalk, barrel, barrel, stats, barrel, ulti, barrel, stats, stats, stats, ulti, then see what u need. If you’re holding up nicely, not dying, not having trouble surviving, go for crit, if not go for stats.. You get stalk for the movement IMO, not the dmg.

    Secoundly, whats up with these itembuilds? I’d start out with some cheap stats (2x crown, 2x totems) and possibly 6x runes of blight and a mana pot. Follow up with steamboots (go str early, for survivability, then change agi later), riftshards (for some cheap earlygame dmg), Elder Parasite (why the hell would u get wispering helm? this item right here + ulti is insane), then go for shieldbreaker or shrunken head, you really need to have a look at the game before u decide on the order.

    Basically, lasthit, try and get some early ganks if you can; if not, fine. If you’re against some pain in the ass nukers, giving u a hard time, wait it out.. use stalk for 2 or more lasthits, and maybe ask for ganks from mid. The lanes are most likely to be empty when ppl are closing up to lvl 10ish.. IMO this is when u need to get ur farm on.. u probably got boots and riftshards, so now u can lasthit every last creep for like 5 min, get your lifesteal on, and go gank.

    Madman is OP

    @ Lillebq,

    Maxing out stalk early game is essential, coz early game,resistance 2 magic is low so using stalk 2 chase low HP heroes can get u kills early. Why would u need rift shards when u already have a gash as ur passive critical skill. And elder parasite?? u already have an ulti that increase ur attack speed and wont weaken you in the process.

    LOL….better check ur self first before u criticize others ok?

    @ratbu

    i would have to disagree with you on this one… Lillebq is right.

    elder parasite+ madmans ult is insane late game,
    riffshards gives you +75 damage maxed out.

    you are doing so much damage so quickly, that the lifesteal counters the health drop on elderparasite. I’ve taken out heroes in less than 2 seconds with Steemboots, Elderparasite, Charged hammer , and Riffshards lvl4. in one game with madman i got aniahlaiton because i was criting 500-600 evry hit, which is deadly when you are doing that 3-4 times a second.

    your item build is suicide ratbu.. you need attack speed+damage+ lifesteal to win with madman.

    @ ratbu

    u gain a lot more exp if u can farm easier in the early, therefore barrel!
    ofc you want elder! a lot more atks and with the lifesteal and your ulti on, then you got like 2 attacks per s! the guide up top sucks, and I can say yours aint to good either….

    @DippiFX

    I agree man, what ratbu doesn’t realize is that they are two seperate critical properties, and by having BOTH you are pretty much guaranteed a critical…it just works a little weird.

    You attack and if the crit from gash doesn’t proc, then it calculates the riftshard’s crit, and if that somehow misses then you don’t crit :(

    and as you mentioned taking out a man in 2 seconds, the 1.5sec stun + brutilizer will stun while they normalize from your barrell roll and its a kill everytime :D

    elder parasite is a piece of shit

    any good team will see you use it, and nuke you down in 3 seconds

    there a few builds to use with madman. one is to get mana regen (yep that’s right) early game. this can include a mana tube or even a ring of sorcery if you get fed a ton. if you get a lot of mana regen early you can completely dominate with stalk+stun spam

    another route to go is hellflower, which gives you regen, attack speed, and a silence

    going bkb first makes little sense if you’re playing madman as a hard carry. a better plan is to go runed axe first (lifetube if you’re getting harrassed, manatube if you’re harrassing). runed axe is only worth it if you can make it before 30 minutes, which is easy if you’re in your lane last hitting. after runed axe, you gain 200 gpm and you can farm steamboots, a bkb, savage mace, or whatever else you want

    @aa

    That is why you also get Shrunken head, never ever build MadMan without a Shrunken head, activate it, elders ulti and win. Also I agree, stats over stalk is sooo much better

    I always take ring is basilius in the start. Nice mana regen ‘n stuff. Combined with battlefury you get excellent mana regen and you can farm like hell. Get boots and finish vlads. End game i’d get stygian for damage ‘n stuff.

    Stalk is a MUST have with madman beginning game no matter what you want to do mid or end game builds. You need it for escape in early game, and in end game at level 4 you use it to come in from off the screen to sneak up on your target providing they don’t have an eye. Even if they DO have an eye, you move fast enough that most character don’t have a chance to get away. if they are a fast character and can react fast enough, then you can still barrel roll ‘em! (mid or end game)
    I haven’t perfected a mid game build yet but end game haste and crit make you godlike. if they don’t see you coming, they die. There is no chance that they will survive provided you have the mace. If you ever hit level 25 with madman, the only way you will be killed is if you are:
    1) not paying attention and get ganked and someone has an eye.
    2) you take on all of the towers in their base alone without healing at least once. (I have practiced it and managed to destroy every building on the opposite side with half health leftover in under 3 mins. if you add heroes, you may need to heal once or twice. but towers go down quickly vs madman.)
    3) you run out of mana and don’t stalk back to the pool.

    its difficult to read all of you retards, yes ratbu is right, you dont need rift shards because you have gash. The morons that are saying stats over stalk should also go die in a hole. Hope you realize that upgrading stalk reduces the cool down which equals better chase capabilities

    @zotron

    Yeh I agree with ratbu too….you guys say he is an idiot. He isnt. Adding another 80% attack speed doesnt really help when you have insane attack speed already. By the time you calculate your agi and ulti Elder is a waste of gold. Rifts is the same. With your own crit you have a 28 % chance for a wasted rifts and also a 20% chance for a wasted one of your crits….why not get whispering helm or Symbol of rage or even Ab skull. and then get a bfury for the regen, damage farm.
