Icebrand isn't a useful item on pesti, seeing has he has a chasing and escaping mechanism, flight. It doesn't have any significant stat gains in STR or damage, meaning it isn't doing much for him, IMO. Remember though, you can build the hero anyway you want, this is simply my preference. I've built Pesti with Steamboots, Abyssal Skull, Frostburn, Thunderclaw, and Riftshards, and still raped the other team. It isn't as effective imo, but do what you please.

for the helm of the black legion . i think it is very useful in the early of games . hp regen + the hp bonus make you easy to farm and leveling up. so i

dont agree the helm of black legion is in the item to avoid .

and the elder parasite is useful in the early games too . life steal + increase attack speed . increase attack speed = more change to stun the enemy

hero . i dont understand why it in the item to avoid to get. 20% get damage . i think we only active it when we hunt down hero. so no much problem on

it .

Lifesteal is a beautiful thing. Before reading this guide I always tried to incorporate lifesteal, Abyssal skull works wonders, but I wasn't hitting hard enough. There isn't much point to someone with as much power as pesti to need lifesteal. Behemoths Heart takes care of regen and HP, and with Shield Breaker + Swarm, people become butter. DemonicBreastPlate is a good item, but ridiculously expensive, and not worth it. Pestilence's lack of speed is made up by two shoting you with Swarm and breaker. With Gore, and Impale you have plenty of time to pound on someone. Point being, I agree with guide, this is probably the most effective style of playing with Pestilence.

In response to the comment, I find that abyssal skull works as a great lifesteal item with pest. 15% lifesteal/5 armor/0.8% mana regen/15% base damage and its an aura for all your teammates within 900 radius. Swarm/Impale then auto-attack. If you're fighting with other melee heros on your team they also get the lifesteal. It also stacks so it makes someone with an elder parasite absolutely dominate.

There is also the note in this build that demonic breastplate is a "must avoid" item which I highly disagree. The +55 attack speed makes gore (along with impale) pretty close to stun lock (not quite as definite as a leveld chronos, but pretty close). You get +15 armor and your team gets +5. The enemy you swarm will be -20 (-5 - 15, after lvl 16) and all other enemies around are -5. This combination completely drops the ability of the other team to get into any sustained fight. As to getting it before a behemoth's heart... its a toss up. I normally do because he isn't a tank and only you get the benefit of the increased ability to take damage whereas demonic will increase attack speed and everyone else's armor, including whoever your tank is making it a much better item for the whole team. I also find it way easier to farm for a db than bh, but if you really wanted, you could split it up and go fortifiedbraclet/marchers/abyssalskull/steamboots/warclept/behemothsheart/demonicbreastplate.

I just find that pesty's attack speed is his main weakness. Increasing it by 55 gives him an extra half of an attack per second which translates to an extra 12.5% chance to stun every second which can be pretty significant.

And to come full circle, increasing attack speed also increases lifesteal effectiveness making that abyssal skull help out even more for the entire team... whereas behemoth's heart just lets you tank (which pest shouldnt really be doing if he can help it)

For life steal, I know you covered this, but I have a question.
He doesn't attack fast enough for it to be effective, I agree.
But is there not a build that could incorporate life steal and attack speed without sacraficing too much attack power or strength? Or would he end up not living up to the carry he can be, also creating a squishier Pesti, which is less effective.

Curious, I haven't been able to find one simply looking through the items alone, and in game I am not quite sure that I am willing to sacrifice games for the sake of progress (more for my team mates sakes than my own) Mediocre reason, I know.
