There appears to be no cheat codes or hacks for Borderlands PC.
Fortunately, there is a save editor which you can edit your character level, money, items, skills are more!

Borderlands save file location:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Borderlands\SaveData for Vista & Windows 7
and in My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\SaveData for Windows XP
If you want to edit your skill tree, you need to manually add the corresponding code for the skill, below is an example of maxed out siren skill trees

hi
i have some informations for you.
datas named as ‘is equiped’ on Weapons tab actually mean ‘weapon rank.’
if this higher, the weapon has more powerful and need higher level of player.
length of string changing does not take any influences to datas followed after it.
if ‘string length’ data suits.

Interesting. I had a look at the data stored in the save game files, and it all seems rather straightforward just not word-wrapped. I think this will help my decipher the entire database of guns they created to work out the more powerful ones and the modifiers involved.
